How we work

Our clients are one-of-a-kind and so are their projects. At Okodia, we customize our course of action to tailor to the needs of each client and each project.

As a general rule, our translation projects are centred on the following steps:

1.- Defining the project: We will establish the quote together with our client. We will mutually agree upon deadlines, answer any questions the client may have and then we will receive the original documents.

2.- Groundwork Phase: The project is assigned to a Project Manager, who will supervise the project throughout all the steps, at all times. The Project Manager assigns the project file to a translator or a team of translators according to the translation languages, the translation specialty and the volume of the translation. The Project Manager coordinates the use of reference materials, terminology glossaries, text extraction, linguistic corpus…

3a.- Translation: The specialized translators are in charge of translating the project, using the most appropriate and up-to-date reference material and terminology.

3b.- Reviewing, Proofreading, Experts: Reviewers, proofreaders and terminology experts intervene based on the needs of each individual project.

4a.- Editing and Layout Design: Depending upon if the documents in the project require editing, redesigning or desktop publishing (DTP) so that they are ready for final delivery in the approved format or certified, if required.

4b.- Testing, QA: Before delivering the project, it has to be checked for proofreading proper linguistic form, meaning and context of the translation to make sure there are absolutely no errors in the project as well as the correct set up.

* Note: It is a circular process in Steps 3 and 4 based on the distinguishing characteristics of each project until its successful completion.

5.- Final Delivery: In the mutually agreed deadline final delivery is made to the client as mutually agreed.

6.- Post-translation follow-up: The project is never finalized without the approval of the client. A few days after finalizing our translations, we will contact you to know your level of satisfaction, and to offer you an even better service with your next project. Your satisfaction is not just a statement. We are constantly thinking of ways to optimize our services and your feedback is very important to us in this ongoing process.
